I like making hollow beads. They are light and easy to wear and very strong. To make a hollow bead with 2 holes (so you can string it); I make in on a steel mandrel and capture a bubble of air that expands in the heat of the torch. But sometimes I blow a hollow bead at the end of a steel tube. Now there is a perfect hollow bead with one hole. I can treat that “bead” like a half drilled pearl… or in several other manners. This hollow bead has 2 holes and swings on a teardrop link of sterling silver.
